Enrico Venuti

Chairman of the Board and CEO
In the coffee industry since 1980, Enrico first worked with Pacorini Group before joining Sandalj in 1988. Executive Sales Manager and Vincenzo Sandalj’s close collaborator for over 25 years, he became Sandalj Trading Company’s President in 2013. He has recently been made a Maestro del Lavoro by the President of the Republic through the Order of Merit for Labour. One of his main goals is to develop the specialty coffee market and for Sandalj to be able to make a lasting impact on the livelihoods of coffee producing communities.

Edy Bieker

COO and Managing Director for Quality and Training
In the green coffee segment since 1976, Edy joined Sandalj in 1990. He pioneered tasting with the Espresso method rather than relying exclusively on cupping through Brasilian extraction as was then the norm. He was made a Maestro del Lavoro for his work achievements, is one of the first SCAE authorized trainers, and among other roles, is a judge for Cup of Excellence and Barista competitions. A pioneer of the Espresso culture, his long-standing objective remains spreading knowledge about coffee quality and a drive for excellence throughout all levels of the value chain, from producers to consumers.

Maurizio Rossmann

In the shipping industry from 1983, Maurizio Rossmann joined Sandalj in 2000. His interest in economic and financial sustainability has always extended to the environment, an area in which he implemented several company-wide changes to tackle energy consumption and resource waste. He volunteers and has held various institutional positions for a number of sport and canine associations, and was for years an active member of the Canine Unit of the Italian Civil Defense Maritime Rescue.

Theresa Sandalj

Board Member
The youngest generation of the Sandalj family, Theresa recently graduated from a Masters of Finance and moved back to Trieste to work at the company headquarters. Passionate about social development and sustainability, she envisages a world in which all consumers value the efforts coffee producing communities put into growing high quality beans.

Mauro Capellino

Senior Trader
Born in Belgrade and raised in South Africa, Mauro moved to Italy as a Law graduate before entering the coffee industry in 1993. Junior commodities trader in an international trading house, he then joined Sandalj in 1995. Extensive travels to producing countries enable him to establish relationships with producing areas and supply consumers with the most exciting coffees the world has to offer.
Francesca Bieker

Francesca Bieker

Quality Control and Accademia del Caffé Trainer
Born and raised on coffee, she’s been helping Sandalj at trade fairs ever since she can remember. The 2012 Cup of Excellence and ensuing travels through South American coffee plantations cement her growing passion for everything coffee, leading her to become SCAE Trainer in 2015.

Maurizio Stocco

Quality Control and Lab Manager
After ten years in the police force, in 1990 Maurizio is increasingly drawn to the world of coffee and starts working for a local roaster in Trieste. He joins Sandalj’s quality department in ’94 and now is in charge of roasting and quality supervision for all of our lots.
